Real Meaning of Life

Recently, I was working on a Connect the Dots worksheet with my son, and I realized what a perfect metaphor for the real meaning of life this was; moving from place to place in a sequential order with the goal of creating a well drawn picture.

Perhaps it over simplifies the concept of The Meaning of Life, but why does it have to be so complicated ? We weren’t here in the beginning, and chances are we will not be here at the end, so all we have is the beginning and end of our own lives. So if we look at what is true, then the connect the dots metaphor makes more sense.

Time is an aspect of life that we can not escape, and for that reason we are always moving forward. By using this philosophy for a way of life, we can add a bit more structure to our path and ensure that all aspects of our lives evolve, and progress forward.

If we can look forward and find the next dot, dot after dot, our picture will slowly form. And much like these connect the dot puzzles, sometimes we have to step back and look at what picture we are creating to help us find the next step to make.

I think sometimes in life we over complicate matters, and refuse to believe they can be so simple. All we know as real is what we see, and we have to work around the obstacles so that at the end of our journey we can hopefully look back with admiration at the picture we have created.

Natural Products Expo East 2007

Its that time of year, the Natural Products Expo East is back again, and back in Baltimore. Their website says it best, “Natural Products Expo East isn’t just a trade show. It’s your chance to see, hear, smell, taste and get your hands on everything new in the natural, organic and healthy products industry. ”

If you have been there before then you know what its all about. If you have never seen the sites of the the Natural Products Expo, it truly is an experience. I have been fortunate enough to visit the show both in Baltimore, as well as the few years it was in Washington DC. Suppliers from all facets of Natural Products come to showcase their company, and new products.

It will be in Baltimore again this year, from September 27 - 29th, in the Baltimore Convention Center which is large, and will be packed with suppliers, buyer, brokers, retailers, and onlookers, each of which will be busy filling up their freebie bags with the endless rows of samples that will be given away. Some of the most memorable samples in the past, other than all of the food, would have to be the chewable tooth brushes, vitamin C gum, aura readers, and most of all free back massages (honestly, I am not sure what that company was selling).

For all who are going, Enjoy !! For those who do not yet have plans to be there, do what you can to change whatever plans you may have and get there, you will not be sorry.

Keep an eye out for the all natural food products company Health Is Wealth Products Inc. who will not only have their own new products to showcase, but will also have Sabaidi Tea bags to show to brokers, retailers, and all those who are interested in selling them. Unfortunately we were unable to get sufficient amounts of samples sent to the US for the show, but as we are preparing for Sabaidi Tea Bags to arrive in the US by the middle of October, we are beginning to introduce the our products. Remember, HEALTH IS WEALTH…You can go check them out and not only will you get some good food from Health is Wealth, but might also get Sabaidi Tea Samples.

We all have different lifestyles, different amounts of stress, and different forms of stress that effect us everyday. With everything that we personally encounter day after day, our nutritional supplements need to be specifically targeted to our unique lifestyle. And while you want to take supplements that will help, anything extra could be potentially harmful. With that in mind, here is a list by Heather Hurlock of Best Life, of specific lifestyles and the best supplements for each. If you feel you fit into one of these categories, ask your doctor if the supplement suggested is best for you.

Obesity: Vitamin D gets caught up in fat tissue and doesn’t circulate, which means you might need more to compensate.

Distance Runner: Because you burn so much fuel, there is rapid elimination of vitamin C, an important nutrient for runners because it helps repair muscle and prevent muscle breakdown. Don’t take more than 500 mg a day.

Family History of Alzheimer’s Disease: Plant sterols and stanols reduce cholesterol, which has been found to accelerate the formation of the plaques that are associated with dementia.

High Blood Pressure: Coenzyme Q10 improves blood flow and should be considered even by healthy men who have a family history of high blood pressure.

Strength Trainer or Weight Lifter:L-carnitine helps shuttle fatty acids within mitochondria, the part of the cell that produces energy and builds muscle.

Recovering Alcoholics:B complex vitamins (b1, b2, b6, b12, and folic acid) are the first to become deficient in alcoholics.

Risk of Heart Attacks: Niacin increases good cholesterol and reduces heart-disease risk better than most drugs.

Recovering From a Heart Attack: One gram of omega-3 daily reduces the risk of sudden cardiac death. This has recently become an American Heart Associated standard treatment.

Family History of Early Vision Loss: Lutein protects the eyes from damage.

Smoker: Vitamin E is rapidly depleted by smoking, and continues to be deficient for up to five years after quitting.

Erectile Dysfunction: Red yeast rice extract is a natural form of statin that can increase blood flow.

Insomnia Herbal Home Remedy

For many years doctors have known about and stressed the importance of sleep. Not only will sleeping keep us refreshed in our daily activities making us alert and better equipped for the challenges ahead, but sleeping plays a vital role in keeping our immune system strong allowing us to stay healthy.

Even something as simple as the common cold can drastically slow us down for days; something many who are students, parents, workers, etc. can not afford. We live in a busy world, with much to do to the point where there is no time to sleep, but we must.

That is why a sleep disorder, whether it be minor or chronic insomnia is a serious problem that needs treatment from a doctor or more easily a natural home herbal remedy.

There are a variety of ways to we can aide our sleeping. Studies show that allowing ourselves to run by a relatively set schedule of being awake and sleeping will greatly help our body’s clock to know when it is time for sleep. Erratic changes in our nighttime patterns will only add to the disorder and make most treatment futile.

After a somewhat set time to sleep is arranged, set a “cool down” time, to prepare yourself for sleep. About an hour before your sleep time, put away work or home work and begin to relax. During this time, further progress with your home remedy by adding the herbal portion. Many companies have come out with herbal supplements specifically designed as treatment for insomnia, helping reduce the symptoms associated. One herbal home remedy worth looking at is called SNOOZ. 100% natural sleep aides, that costs less than $1/day.

After taking SNOOZ, it is a good idea to sit and relax, perhaps leisurely reading a book or magazine. Caffeine free herbal tea is also a good idea as many herbal teas such as Pandan have been known for their soothing properties, that will help reduce the stress of the day.

A warm shower also helps, as well as getting into comfortable sleeping clothes.

This “cool down” period is also a good time to meditate and stretch(which is especially useful for those who have back problems). Meditating will help clear your head which helps when trying to sleep. Having your mind race through everything you did yesterday, today, and tomorrow will not help you sleep.

After an hour of relaxing, drinking herbal tea, taking your side effect free herbal sleep aide SNOOZ, you can now enjoy night after night of deep sleep helping to keep you refreshed and most importantly Healthy in all aspects of your life.
