Natural Remedy for Sore Throat

A Sore Throat can be extremely irritating, and constantly cause pain. Often times it may lead to coughing and without a treatment, a sore throat can get worse and worse until it becomes severe.
While in the case of a severe soar throat you should seek medical attention from a physician as the problem may be more serious and require special medicine, an average or minor sore throat can be helped by this Natural Home Remedy.
This remedy is extremely simple and is a traditional Thai Herbal Home Remedy.
Preparation:
Fill a glass of water about ¼ full, and then add a pinch of dried Chili Pepper. Stir the water until mixed and you are now ready.
Action:
Take a deep breath, take a medium sized sip of the solution (DO NOT SWALLOW THE WATER), and begin to gargle. Gargle for as long as you can, and when you are out of breath, spit out the chili water.
Repeat this step 3 times.
If the water you used is strong, you may want to drink fresh water from another glass to clear you throat.
If sore throat persists, repeat this process 2 or 3 times a day.
Why Chili water helps bring relief:
Chilipeppers have a variety of home remedies associated with them. One of which is that Chilis have been known to kill bacteria. The chemical that makes them hot is called capsaicin. This is the same chemical that will also kill the bacteria that gives you a sore throat.

I have heard of that before, but never tried it. Next time I have a sore throat I will give it a shot.

Having a slight sore throat the other day, I was thinking back to this post and was going to gargle with dried chilli peppers in water, and then I had an even better idea…Soup. In Thailand spicy soup is very popular, so when I went to have lunch, soup was my choice, and then I saw the chilli peppers. I put a spoonful in, and enjoyed my tasty, spicy soup, while helping cure my sore throat.
